Pre-Op Joint Replacement Education

St. Vincent’s Total Joint Replacement Preoperative Education Program is designed to bring together patients and practitioners from all stages of care. The program includes presentations from social workers, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists and surgeons. By the end of the 90-minute class, patients scheduled for surgery in the days ahead have learned about their surgical procedure, pre-op exercise recommendations, post-op pain management, physical therapy, occupational therapy and hospital discharge.

For your convenience, this class is offered every day at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside (10:00 am on the 4th floor) and St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside (M/W/F at 1:30 pm and T/Th at 9:00 am, on the 1st floor of the Dillon Building). This class is mandatory for all of our patients receiving a total hip, total shoulders or knee replacement and will be scheduled during your preoperative appointment.
